As part of the Clerkenwell Design Week 2017 festivities we ran a badge designing and activity for Altro showrooms. We brought our badge making machine along with a selection of different papers, a wide range of pens (everything from fine liners for detailed design to brush pens for brush calligraphy) as well as lettering and washi tape in enough colours and patterns to account for every taste. We provided some templates for inspiration, but with lots of designers and architects in attendance there was no shortage of creativity! (Click on event title to see more examples).
We loved this pool slider customising activity for River Island’s 2017 High Summer press day. We provided a tempting selection of embellishments for guests to customise their sliders with; vintage brooches, studs, pom poms, fringing, googly eyes, patches, lettering. All set for some summer pool action now…
For River Island’s High Summer ’16 press day we provided a badge making activity. It’s a super easy and quick thing to make. Guests could choose from a selection of backgrounds (from newspaper: we found La Monde and Financial Times worked best, to graphic prints – we discovered an alternative use for those mindfulness colouring books!) We also had a choice of pressed flowers, to tie in with the event’s summer floral trend we used lots of summer brights including hydrangeas, marigolds, violas and fuchsias. After a few minutes of selecting and arranging, it was simply a case of pressing down the handle of the badge making machine – and voila, a pretty pin badge ready to wear for an instant splash of colour.
We organised a rainbow flower crown making activity for a Claire’s as part of their Rainbow Loom press day held at London Zoo. To tie in with the rainbow theme we used some brightly coloured, fresh flowers including pink, orange and yellow roses, red carnations and we even found some blue blooms . People chose their flowers and with a little help from the team made flower crowns and garlands.
We worked with Next for a Summer fashion preview event. We used key prints from their collection and translated them into nail art. At the event held at the swanky Soho Hotel in London, the fashion bloggers could view the pieces then have their nails manicured with a nail art version of the prints, either a full set or just one as a signature nail, as well as picking up some brilliant manicure tips and tricks along the way.
We provided our beauty product takeaway activity as part of a 2 day Arcadia Spring/Summer ’15 press event. It was held at Soho’s Vinyl Factory which was transformed into a green, garden oasis. Amongst the foliage and the new fashion collections we had a Beauty Bar giving guests a hands-on activity making botanical beauty products in cool glass bottles, ready to takeaway and enjoy!
Take a jam jar, a selection of foliage, filler flowers and focal flowers, add ribbon and a tag and you’ve got a modern twist on a traditional floral bouquet. Our jam jar flower arranging activity worked well as a ‘drop in’ Mother’s Day event for developers Capco at their Earls Court site. We used Spring flowers including hyacinth, daffodils, tulips, ranunculus but can be adapted according to season and occasion.
For their autumn/ winter 2017 press day, Very Exclusive invited us to run a dream catcher making activity for their guests. The brief was ‘boho and ethereal’ to tie in .with their event theme.
Perfect for stationery lovers, we ran a notebook customising activity for Altro at Clerkenwell Design Week 2017 (along with badge making). Using a tempting selection of lettering, washi tape and pens everyone came away with their own bespoke book!
We were invited by Stylist magazine to a pop up event in Soho to host our Pressed Flower Frames workshop. It was a weekend full of lovely things to make from handmade Christmas gifts (like our frames) to lots of great decoration and accessory ideas – we especially love their origami Christmas trees. We used a selection of Scandi inspired muted tones (white and greens) along with flowers and foliage with bolder hues – e.g. pansies, red rose buds and burgundy or dark green foliage. We also provided a choice of ribbon from dove grey to aubergine to complement the flowers. They completed their gifts with some home made gift tags to match.
We were thrilled to be asked to provide a fun and creative pressed flowers in frames activity for the Very Exclusive Autumn/Winter 16 press day in Soho. We used Kiko glass frames and provided a large selection of dried flowers, dried leaves, seeds and feathers to make a stunning piece of art!
To celebrate the launch of New Look’s homeware collection, we hosted a hands on photo frame decorating activity for members of the press at the Mondrian in London. We provided a selection of embellishments including gold and silver leaf for guests to decorate with. It was a fun and original activity with impressive results.
Bespoke votive candle making added a fun, interactive element to this lingerie press launch at Home House in Portman Square, London. The scents were chosen to compliment the new collection – sensual and aromatic, including fig fragrance which was perfect for Figleaves! Guest made their bespoke candles, then browsed the collection while the wax set. They left with their votive candles wrapped and ready to go.
We were asked by skincare experts Witch to provide a teacup candle making session as an uplifting and hands on experience for an online press event. TV presenter Gail Porter was there as an inspiring figurehead for the brand and along with a group of discerning beauty bloggers learnt how to make a stylish scented tea cup candle.
To showcase their Autumn/Winter collection for high street brand Bershka, we provided an interactive and fun votive candle making activity for their press event. Guests made their own candle choosing from a classic or vintage style glass votives and a selection of scents which complimented the theme.
We provided our votive candle making activity for a Christmas press day for Claire’s. Guests got to make their own hand poured candles with seasonal scents such as fig, vanilla and orange to tie in with their festive theme.
The week before Christmas, River Island transformed their Style Studio in their flagship Oxford Street store into a snowy winter wonderland for a fun, festive press day. Amongst the snow and fashion were our stations of kids Christmas crafts – providing the mini VIPs with some hands-on and creative activities. The bauble decorating was equally popular with children and the grown ups and involved lots of stars, sequins and glitter. And Christmas stocking decorating meant the kids were all set for Santa!
We provided Christmas wreath making activities for Soho House Group (for Soho House and Electric House) – using seasonal and fresh foliage and berries with some dried embellishments as optional extras for a stylish and traditional wreath.
For a contemporary twist on the classic Christmas jumper we provided a Christmas sweatshirt decorating activity for Claire’s Christmas in July press event at Claridges.
Brilliantly fun and festive we’ve now hosted four Christmas Crafternoons at Soho House and Shoreditch House. Their members spent an afternoon personalising baubles, decorating tags and bags, printing their own wrapping paper and making garlands and tissue paper pom poms over mulled wine and mince pies.
As part of Next’s Christmas social media event, we ran our popular Christmas bauble decorating activity at Browns Hotel in Mayfair. We tied in with their branding and colour scheme as well as their online message for the event.
We provided hessian stockings and a selection of chic trimmings and embellishments for a Christmas stocking decorating activity for the New Look Christmas ’14 press event. As well as our stocking activity there was chocolate selection boxes, red wine, Christmas movies, party manicures and the New Look #partyready collection to really get everyone feeling festive.
To tie in with a natural beauty themed event for Braun Beauty we provided an organic, raw energy ball making masterclass for the guests. Everyone learnt some background info on the benefits of raw food and then chose from a selection of superfoods to make their own delicious, nutritious energy balls ready to eat…
We combined cocktails and cupcakes for a summer event. Guests learnt some piping techniques and enjoyed embellishing booze infused buttercream icing with accessories – we went for a retro cocktail theme; Pina Colada, Mojito, Margarita or Tequila Sunrise. Everyone got 6 cakes to decorate and a box to take their cocktail cupcakes away in and enjoy.
We worked with the Claire’s PR team to come up with unique and fun activities that tied in with the themes of their Spring / Summer ’15 collection. Cartoony and quirky images are a big trend for 2015 and we love Claire’s fun, monster purses, so we provided a biscuit icing activity with freshly baked biscuits ready for guests to get creative with bags of icing, sparkles and sprinkles to make a monster face!
Tassel bracelet making in bright colours got everyone in the mood for summer at Claire’s SS ’15 press day. We used on-trend mini tassels and a selection of beads and showed guests an easy way to make bracelets with a summery, festival feel – quick to make and ready to wear.
Our Mothers Day card making session was a collaboration with Cowshed. We made cards using Liberty print fabric made into flowers and birds. With the cards made and Cowshed products purchased, Mother’s Day was all wrapped up in one fun and relaxed evening session at Electric House in Notting Hill. Cowshed were introducing their Moroccan rose and lavender scented Gorgeous Cow range and the cards had a similarly floral theme using vintage Liberty print fabrics to make flowers and birds. We also provided first class stamps so no excuses for the cards not to make it on time!
