Badge making at River Island event
For River Island’s High Summer ’16 press day we provided a badge making activity. It’s a super easy and quick thing to make. Guests could choose from a selection of backgrounds (from newspaper: we found La Monde and Financial Times worked best, to graphic prints – we discovered an alternative use for those mindfulness colouring books!) We also had a choice of pressed flowers, to tie in with the event’s summer floral trend we used lots of summer brights including hydrangeas, marigolds, violas and fuchsias. After a few minutes of selecting and arranging, it was simply a case of pressing down the handle of the badge making machine – and voila, a pretty pin badge ready to wear for an instant splash of colour.
We loved the scope of creativity for this easy to do activity. We were surprised at the range of badges produced from the simplicity of a single stem of gypsophila on a plain white background through to a explosion of colour on a patterned background – and everything in between. We had people wear them on coats, scarves and bags – we even had one guest do a pansy badge to match her cocktail!
